Digiflavor Aura RDA First Impression
I was very fortunate to receive the Digiflavor Aura RDA to write about. I say very fortunate I would have brought this straight off without a second thought. Most recently I have really been getting into flavours more than chucking large clouds and being a reviewer of eliquids I am also looking for the next best flavour producing rda. These are my thoughts on the Aura RDA.
Digiflavor are the company behind such products as the siren and my current RTA the pharaoh. In the Aura they join up with DJlsb vapes a well known and much respected YouTube reviewer. DJlsb vapes certainly knows his stuff when it comes to vape products so I was keen to see his take on the perfect RDA.
Opening the box on the Aura you are immediately presented with the Aura itself. In this case I was sent the Stainless steel variant which I was happy with due to having an abundance of black atomisers. Underneath the Aura you will find a selection of spares and a couple of coils selected by Djlsb vapes himself. Also here are 25mm and 30mm coiling tools, screw driver, replacement screws and a bottom feeder pin. I have not tried the the bottom feeder as I am looking for my first squonker mod to try it out on.
Digiflavor Aura RDA Breakdown
The Aura comprises of 5 main parts when broken down. Starting with the drip tip this is either a 15mm or 18mm 810 delrin drip tip as per your preference. Next is the top cap which looking inside has a lovely dome to aid in all that flavour hitting your taste buds where it matters. The adjusting part of the the side airflow is here too. Underneath the top cap you will find the mid cap with the side airflow holes and bottom airflow adjuster. Next and most importantly is the deck and this is where things get really cool. A step style clamp system to allow you to easily place your coils when building. Plenty of room for coils, wicking and a nice sized juice well. Airflow via the bottom of the deck is angled and targeted at the coils.
I would have liked to have seen spring loaded clamps like the pharoah but thats my personal preference and not really a negative. The post screws you have either the choice of flathead or my preference philips head. I feel the philips head allow you to clamp things a little tighter with minimal effort. Finally the very bottom of the Aura is a removable PEI heatsink which works wonders in transferring some heat away from the RDA rather than it travelling into the mod. Not only does it serve a practical purpose it adds a distinctive look to the Aura. Even more so with the gold version as this is has an PEI drip tip for that matchy matchy look.
Digiflavor Aura RDA Final Thoughts
I really was not disappointed with the Digiflavour & Djlsb vapes Aura RDA. While I would have liked spring loaded clamps this was a really minor thing for me and building on the deck was a pleasure. The bottom airflow wide open gives great flavour with the side airflow half way. Even with the side fully open it is not too airy for me. I can honestly say some of the flavour experiences I am getting off this are very good. Juices that I have not vaped in a while have a new dimension of flavour and seem more enjoyable. Definately recommend this as an addition to any collection.
