2017 was a big year for vaping! I saw more and more people choose e-cigarettes over fags. This 25mm, 2000mah device comes in different colours and features the every impressive TFV style tank. The device itself is charged via a micro USB and has a very simple one button interface. This kit comes with the very latest Resa mini tank that is based on the TFV12 Prince tank. It has either a 2.5ml or 7ml capacity depending which part of the world you live. Smok are constantly pushing the stock coils that come with these kits and offer various different coil configurations to suit every kind of vaper! The tank features replaceable coils (compatible with V8 cores), a top fill mechanism and a wide bore drip tip.

Tesla mods are well known for the quirky and cool mods they release and this year they have delved into the starter kits.
The Macan starter kit is very similar to the previously mentioned Smok kit, however it differs in the fact that you can replace the battery. This starter kit is powered by a single 18650 battery and can handle builds as low as 0.1ohm (battery dependent) before the on board technology will kick in to keep you safe. The battery can be charged via the onboard micro USB, but I recommend to have a seperate battery charger to keep your cells in tip top condition. The kit comes bundled with the 2ml H8 tank. This also comes bundled with 2 different coil configurations but this tank is also compatible with the Smok V8 coils! Based purely on ease of use, I would opt for a device with a replaceable battery as it allows you to keep vaping away from a power socket if your battery dies.

Best Vape Pens – Joyetech eGo AIO Pro/ Pro C Starter Kit
My final choice for the pen style kits goes to the Joyetech eGo AIO Pro Starter Kit and the Joyetech eGo AIO Pro C Starter Kit. These guys have been in the industry for as long as I can remember. Actually one of my very first tanks was a Joyetech beauty.
This latest kit comes with the option to purchase either a built in battery (2600mah) or a replaceable 18650 option! This is great because it allows you to make your own choice regarding how to power the device. The built in battery is obviously charged via micro USB, but the 18650 variant also has USB charging. I would also recommend charging this via a dedicated charger as mentioned above. The tank that comes with the kit is built into the body of the device giving a sleek look and improved rigidity. The kit includes both MTL (mouth to lung) and DL (direct lung) coils which allows you to tailor your vape! Of the 3, this kit offers the most customization when choosing your device.

Final thoughts
As you can see, 2018 is shaping up to be another fast paced year for vaping tech. It has never been easier to kick the smoking habit and move to the 95% safer option!
