Geekvape just came up with the new version of the indestructible mod Aegis. The Geekvape Aegis Mini 80w Starter Kit is a very exciting release for those who fancied the look and features of the other two previous versions but found them too bulky or heavy.
Geekvape Aegis Mini Background
Geekvape made the second version considerably bigger and heavier so the mod could have dual batteries.
Although many embraced the idea of an indestructible mod, one of the biggest negatives of both versions was the weight. Geekvape is trying to attract vapers who dislike heavy mods with this new mini version.
The Aegis Mini is identical to the original Aegis 100W but obviously more compact and lighter. But is it adding anything else new too?
Geekvape Aegis Mini Features
Don’t expect big changes in this mini version! Both mods share the same chipset, materials, screen and look. However, the Mini version has a 2200 mAh built-in battery, 2A fast charge and 80W maximum output instead of the previous 100W.
Obviously, Geekvape had to give up something in order to make a smaller compact version.
The features of the Aegis Mini are as follow:
- Height: 78mm
- TC mode for stainless steel, nickel and titanium wires
- Resistance range: 0.05-3.0ohm
- Short-circuit and overheating protection
- Fast charging USB port
- Water, shock and dust proof
- Made in a mixture of alloy, leather and SLI silicon
The Aegis Mini is also available in a full kit version along with the Cerberus tank. The Geekvape Cerberus features an easy top filling design with 5.5ml large e-juice capacity (there is a TPD version too with less capacity). This sub ohm tank comes with the super mesh coil system and has adjustable bottom airflow. (Find out more about the Cerberus here).

First Thoughts and Impressions about the Aegis Mini
I am a big fan of the original Aegis so I must admit I am sold here… I did so many things wrong to that mod: I took it fishing, under the rain, I put it in the dishwasher, I dropped it from a third floor, I crashed it, hammered it… It never broke. However, the battery capacity with a replaceable 18650 battery was not great. So when I first heard that Geekvape was releasing a mini version with just 2200 mAh built-in battery, I was a bit disappointed. Battery capacity always comes first for me.
Although the internal battery Geekvape placed in the Aegis Mini might be too little, the good news is that thanks to the 2A fast charger, users can fully charge the Geekvape Aegis Mini in less than 1 hour. Most people don’t have 18650 batteries at home, but we all know how to charge a device with a USB cable so I guess introducing a great durable mod like the Aegis to most potential vapers can only be a good idea.
