KAEES Stacked RTA Review

Introduction

Today we’re going to look at the Kaees Stacked RTA and what it has to offer vapers and builders.

Vaping has seen incredible amounts of innovation over the last decade in both design and function. Because of this innovation, it is often difficult to release new products that change the vaping experience.

Airflow has been an area of exploration for many companies over the years, trying to nail down the perfect flow of air for maximum flavor. Build decks have been innovated, re-innovated over and over again.

If you have been involved in vaping, you probably even remember a time when Temperature Control was not a thing or maybe you remember the famous velocity style build deck. Some items have completely changed the way vaping happened.

Vaping has reached an apex point now where so much has been done, originality has gone out the window and we are left with similar looking products, tweaking the same features and trying to make them look original.

It would seem that a good number of companies have reached out for collaborations with outside sources such as Youtubers, social media influencers and more.

This RTA we are looking at today is another collaboration attempt with a well known YouTube artist by the name of Tony B, AKA The Vapour Trail Channel.

Kaees Stacked Look and Feel

At first glance, the Kaees Stacked RTA looks fairly normal. The overall design follows along with several other RTAs currently on the market. The RTA does have a nice quality feel to it. Even though the appearance is fairly basic, the quality in the construction is reassuring.

KAEES Stacked RTA ReviewThe Kaees has a nice glossy black finish that appears to be hard enough to withstand a small bit of abuse although the paint will eventually take a beating, as all tanks do. On the bottom of the Stacked is a gold plated 510 pin that is securely in place and looks to have no burrs or metal left from the cutting work.

As most tanks do, this RTA comes equipped with an 810 wide bore drip tip so if you have a preferred drip tip and from an older atomizer it should fit into the Kaees.

Further inspection of threading in the Kaees would indicate that the tank was well cleaned up after the manufacturing process. There are no burrs of metal on any of the threads and no machine oil left over.

The airflow on the Stacked is located on the bottom and is a double air flow. The operation of the airflow is smooth yet a bit stiff. This may work itself out over time but compared to other RTAs on the market it is a little tougher to use.

Overall, the Kaees looks fairly basic but its quality and craftsmanship make up for the lack of design.

The Kaees Stacked RTA Build Deck

Based on the focus points of this RTA, the build deck appears to be the main selling point of this RTA. While the look of the deck is quite original, the function has been around for quite a while.

KAEES Stacked RTA ReviewThe Stacked build deck is advertised as the easiest deck to build on. This is due to only having to turn two screws. This is nothing new, as the Deck is basically just a clamp style build deck which like we said, has been around for a while.

The physical appearance of the deck is quite a bit different and looks like they did try and nail down something more original.

The deck also features four large cotton wicking channels. These are fairly easy to set cotton into, just do not use too little or the deck will flood. You can use a fair bit of cotton in this RTA.

The gold plating, unfortunately, stops at the 510 pin and the deck looks to be nickel plated instead.

One big plus about deck is that the clamp is fully spring loaded so no more turning the atomizer upside down to install coils.

Overall the deck on the Kaees makes an attempt at originality but it really is not much different than most clamp style decks available now.

Conclusion

The Kaees Stacked RTA is a nice, well made RTA that could have used a bit more thought in the design. The glass installed on the tank is one of the bubble style ones which many manufacturers use on their tanks already.

The RTA does perform fairly well, just about as good as any other budget RTA. The flavor is nice but nothing earth-shattering, certainly it is better than some RTAs.

The Kaees is a nice collaboration with Tony B but I think it could use some improvements.
