TOP 5 VAPE INNOVATIONS IN 2018
2018 left and it will not come back! Now it is time to look back and think which vape innovation had more impact in the vape industry. Every year vaping goes a step forward. Thanks to these innovations, we all enjoy a much better vaping experience than years ago. Just think of the first cig-a-like launched 12 years ago. It looks now absolutely primitive! About a year ago, we published an article about 5 innovations that might change vaping, this time we are going to list the top 5 vape innovations we have seen this year.
VAPE INNOVATION 1: THE REPLAY MODE
Have you ever wished all your puffs would taste perfect? This is the technology Evolv had in mind when they came up with the Replay Mode, the most advanced vaping technology. The Replay Mode captures that perfect puff you just experienced and it is able to reproduce it over and over again.
This technology was recently incorporated in to some successful devices such as the Orion, the first DNA pod mod. The Replay Mode does not only capture the ”perfect puff”, but also prevent the device from getting dry hits. By doing this, the lifespan of your pod will increase too.
VAPE INNOVATION 2: WIRELESS CHARGING MODS
If you are a tech geek, then I am sure you are already familiar with Qi technology, also known as inductive charging. Digiflavor was the first company introducing the Qi technology to the vaping world. Just a few weeks ago, they released the Edge Kit. This is the first mod that incorporates wireless charging in a mod. The idea is very exciting for many vapers.
VAPE INNOVATIONS 3: COIL-LESS TANKS
Featuring the innovative coil-less design, Joyetech launched the Riftcore Solo Atomizer in 2018. The Riftcore Solo frees your hands from countless wires and sophisticated building by bringing a new concept: the RFC Heater. This molecule heating technology passed the safety test from an independent US laboratory. However, most vapers were still skeptical as other previous attempts from other brands were reported to contain a chemical that could be harmful when inhaled.
Joyetech did not quit on the coil-less tank and later in September, they launched the Cubis Max. This tank also features coil-less technology but this time they changed the RFC Heater (the heating element) for the NCFilmTM Heater. This new heating element is made in kanthal, a well-known metal alloy (iron-chromium-aluminum) that is widely used by many coil builders. So problem solved… No more doubts about its safety!
Thanks to this technology featuring a horizontal heating element with the large heating area, people new to the building can also enjoy the benefits of rebuildable tanks by just replacing the cotton pad and the NCFilm Heater from time to time. Not sure if this idea will succeed in 2019, but some innovation is always appreciated!
VAPE INNOVATION 4: STAINLESS STEEL POD MODS
2018 was a great year for pod mods. Since the success of the JUUL, many vape manufactures joined the pod mod fever and released their own pod mods. We’ve seen them in all kind of shapes and colours, but never in such a beautiful finish as the IPHA Swis. This vape manufacturer -with experience working with Apple- bet for a stylish pod mod made in stainless steel. The Swis brings innovation and simplicity for pod mod design. Forget about cheap looking pod mods made in plastic!
VAPE INNOVATION 5: THE VAPE CHESS BOARD
The last innovation seen in 2018 does not have much to do with technology but it is super cool, so I had to include it in my list. Deepinmaker created the first board chess for vapers in collaboration with a popular Japanese designer. This chess board has 510 drip tips resembling all chess figures and white and black atty stands. The cell atty stands have a magnet so you can create different shapes and place your atomizers on top of the cells when you are not using them.
